What the job does
- assemble and install rigging gear such as cables, ropes, pulleys and winches to lift, lower, move or position machinery, structural steel and other heavy objects
- erect structural steel for buildings or plants under construction
- erect precast-concrete panels used on facades of buildings;
- inspect, maintain and repair equipment
Relevant skills and experience
- experience in similar industry sectors
- enjoy outdoor, practical work
- physically fit
- ability to work at heights
- good with hands;
- ability to work as part of a team
What you might need to get the job
- Certificate III in Rigging
- Certificates of Attainment are also available in some States for Basic Rigging, Intermediate Rigging, and Advanced Rigging
- a working at heights ticket
- recognition of existing skills, experience or other qualifications.
