Work for Queensland Mining and Gas Jobs Expos

The Work for Queensland Mining and Gas Job Expos allowed Queenslanders to find out about jobs in the industry, and what was needed to get them.

Information about options and opportunities were available at the expos. You could speak with major mining and gas industry employers, and get advice and free skills pre-assessments from Queensland Government training and career consultants.

The Work for Queensland Mining and Gas Job Expos showcased:

• current, upcoming and future job opportunities
• the range of jobs and careers available in the resources sector
• industry pay, conditions and lifestyle
• how existing skills can help get formal qualifications
• training options available to pursue a career in the mining or gas industry

Recent Work for Queensland Mining and Gas Jobs Expos were held at:

• Boondall – Friday 10 February (12pm - 6pm)
  Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Melaleuca Drive, Boondall
• Toowoomba – Tuesday 7 February (10am - 4pm)
  Clive Berghofer Events Centre, Toowoomba Showgrounds, Glenvale Road, Toowoomba
• Ipswich – Friday 3 February (10am - 4pm)
  The Workshops Rail Museum, North Street, North Ipswich
• Logan – Wednesday 1 February (10am - 4pm)
  Logan Entertainment Centre, 170 Wembley Road, Logan Central

The 2011, mining and gas expos were also held in October throughout regional areas of Queensland. These expos occurred in:

• Cairns – Monday 17 October
• Gold Coast – Wednesday 19 October
• Sunshine Coast – Friday 21 October
• Airlie Beach – Tuesday 25 October
• Maryborough – Friday 28 October

Even if you were unable to attend a Work for Queensland Mining and Gas Expo, help and advice is still available:
